Description
The boat's twin knifelike bows slice through the small chop, sending torrents of spray through the mesh trampoline "decks" toward the crew. Then, much like water reaching its boiling point, the boat's ultra high-tech hyrdofoils - mounted on the outboard ends of its daggerboards and rudders - suddenly raise the boat of the water. With the drag of seawater on the hulls reduced dramatically, the boat's speed surges in the high-30-knot range. Not surprisingly, sailors call this transition "liftoff."

Apparently you have around 15 pages I've missed so I'll arbitrarily start here and take a bite of the elephant. Looks like you've been around the whole danged world since. Not everyone gets to see this event, let alone photograph it. Did you get some new equipment? Impressive shot for speed, distance, and conditions. LF
David Bearden replied:
Fred, thanks, yes some new equipment but these were practice runs close to the SF coastline...

Amazing effect. Great camera lens too. Don't know how far away you were but it's a nice clear image.
David Bearden replied:
Scott, thanks very much...fortunately these were all run near the coast along SF Bay...probably 500 yards away...
